During February-March 2015 (Austral summer), sea surface temperatures up to 27.8 ºC were recorded in situ in Chuy, Department of Rocha, at the northern limit of the Atlantic coast of Uruguay. Values up to 28ºC were also recorded in surface coastal brackish waters from the Departments of Montevideo and Canelones, in the inner parts of Rio de la Plata estuary (10m mean depth).
